Master Eddie Boon  5th Dan, started Teesside Moo Do Kwan (then called Kazoku Karate) in Feb 2002 at Holy Rosary Church hall in Billingham so students could enjoy a flexible approach to martial arts in a welcoming traditional environment.

Master Boon started training in 1989 with the United Kingdom Tang Soo (Soo Bahk) Do Federation.

He went on to take his 3rd, 4th  & 5th Dan with the Amateur Martial Association. He takes a keen interest in the practical applications of martial arts and is a studious instructor cross training in various styles, and is focused on passing his knowledge and experience on to his students whilst developing new skills.

He is also a 1st Dan in Iaido awarded by the British Kendo Association.

ABOUT

Master Russell Boon  4th Dan (or Master Russ as he likes to be called) started training in 1989 with the United Kingdom Tang Soo (Soo Bahk) Do Federation where he recieved his 1st Dan in 1992 and his 2nd Dan in 1994.

After leaving the UKTSDF he was graded to 3rd and 4th Dan with the Amateur Martial Association.

He also practiced Kendo at Kita-Urawa Kendo dojo, Japan and awarded his 'shodan' (1st Dan) at the Tokyo Budokan under the All Japan Kendo Federation in 2002.

He has also cross trained in various other styles of martial art over the years.

His love for the martial arts is clearly evident during his classes which have a great balance between traditional values and being incedibly fun and family friendly.

Kyo Sa Nim Peter Knights 2nd Dan is a senior instructor at Teesside Moo Do Kwan.

He started training in 1989 with the United Kingdom Tang Soo (Soo Bahk) Do Federation. He has also practised kickboxing but returned to his Tang Soo Do roots, joining our club in 2005.

He is a qualified fitness instructor, personal trainer and Pilates teacher.

Mr Knights has been a great inspiration to all the members, seniors, juniors and youngsters alike and his enthusiasm is infectious.

Mr Knights believes that students who enjoy training learn more and are more likely to reach their potential. He is an engaging instructor who always ensures classes are of the highest quality and fun.

Kyo Sa Nim Mark O'Brian 1st Dan has  been practising martial arts for over 20 years, originally with Chungdokwan Taekwondo he has experience of both WTF & ITF styles. A National Championship gold medal winner who enjoys both his own training and passing on his knowledge to others.
